Flower Delivery in Plymouth, MN
We're located just north in Maple Grove, delivering fresh flowers throughout Plymouth daily. Whether you're sending birthday blooms to a home near Medicine Lake or sympathy arrangements to a service at Garrity Delmar, we know these roads and deliver with care.
About Plymouth
Plymouth sits about 10 miles northwest of downtown Minneapolis, a suburban city bounded by Interstate 494 to the east and Highway 55 cutting through its center. The community spans roughly 35 square miles, with over 2.5 square miles of water. Medicine Lake and Parkers Lake define much of the landscape here. Major corridors like Highway 169 and County Road 6 connect Plymouth's neighborhoods, from the older residential areas near 36th Avenue North to the northwestern sections along Peony Lane. The small City of Medicine Lake sits as an enclave on Plymouth's southeast side. Locals often reference areas by their lakes or landmarks: the West Medicine Lake area, Parkers Lake neighborhoods, or Plymouth City Center near 34th Avenue and Plymouth Boulevard. It's a well-established suburb with extensive trail systems, preserved open spaces, and facilities like the Hilde Performance Center that anchor community life.
Fresh Flowers, Short Drive
We're practically neighbors. From our Maple Grove warehouse location, most Plymouth addresses are 15 to 20 minutes away on a typical day. We take Highway 169 south or cut through on Zachary Lane when 494 gets thick with commuter traffic around 5 p.m. Our drivers know to avoid the railroad crossing on Vicksburg Lane during evening rush and to navigate school dismissal times near Armstrong High on 36th Avenue. Mid-morning and early afternoon offer the smoothest routes. Blooms reach their destination fresh, exactly as we arranged them.
Where We Deliver
Plymouth's four ZIP codes (55441, 55442, 55446, and 55447) are all within our daily route. From the townhomes off Fernbrook Lane to the tree-lined streets near Gleason Lake, we deliver throughout the city. Here are some places Plymouth residents frequently send flowers:
- Abbott Northwestern – WestHealth: This outpatient medical center on Campus Drive serves patients for surgeries and specialty care. Flowers are commonly sent for recovery, new baby celebrations, and to lift spirits during treatment.
- Garrity Delmar Plymouth Chapel: Located on 37th Avenue North, this funeral home serves families throughout the northwest metro. Sympathy arrangements for visitations and memorial services arrive here with the respect these moments require.
- Wayzata High School: Minnesota's largest high school sits on Peony Lane. During prom season, graduation, and teacher appreciation week, corsages, boutonnieres, and thank-you arrangements find their way to the school office.
- Plymouth Community Center & Millennium Garden: This city facility on 34th Avenue North hosts wedding ceremonies in its garden space and receptions in its event rooms. Bridal party flowers and table centerpieces are common requests for celebrations here.
- St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church: On Forestview Lane North, this church hosts weddings and memorial masses. Altar arrangements and wedding florals are frequently delivered for weekend services.
- Trillium Woods Senior Living: This life-plan community on Cheshire Parkway serves Plymouth's senior residents. Birthday bouquets, holiday arrangements, and thinking-of-you deliveries bring brightness to residents and their families.
- Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West: This hotel on Campus Drive hosts conferences and wedding receptions. Event centerpieces and hospitality arrangements are often needed for gatherings held here.
- Robbinsdale Armstrong High School: On Plymouth's east side at 36th Avenue North, Armstrong hosts homecoming dances, graduation ceremonies, and staff appreciation events where flowers play a role.
Moments That Bloom Here
Plymouth's community calendar creates natural occasions for flowers throughout the year:
Music in Plymouth (Early July): This summer concert at the Hilde Performance Center draws thousands for an evening of Minnesota Orchestra performances, food trucks, and fireworks. Families enhance their picnic spots with seasonal bouquets.
Plymouth on Parade (September): The annual community parade through Plymouth City Center features floats, marching bands, and school groups. Following the morning parade, a family fair offers activities and entertainment. Floral arrangements are appropriate for honoring parade participants or decorating community gathering spaces.
Fire & Ice Winter Festival (Early February): Held at Parkers Lake Park, this festival includes ice skating, bonfires, and fireworks on the frozen lake. While ice sculptures take center stage, winter greenery and arrangements can warm indoor gathering areas during the event.
Wayzata High School Prom (Spring): As the state's largest high school, prom season means hundreds of students preparing for the big night. Corsages and boutonnieres are ordered weeks in advance, with families often sending congratulatory arrangements to mark this milestone.
Plymouth Farmers Market (June through October): Wednesday afternoons at Parkers Lake Playfield bring the community together for fresh produce and artisan goods. The market creates opportunities for gifting, whether welcoming new neighbors, thanking hosts, or simply brightening someone's week.
Primavera Art Exhibition (April): This spring art show at the Plymouth Community Center showcases local artists over three days. Gallery openings and artist receptions are fitting occasions for congratulatory arrangements celebrating creative achievement.
About Donato's Floral
Victor Donato and his sister opened their first shop in a converted drugstore in Crystal-Robbinsdale in 1988. Victor was 24 with no formal training, just natural talent. Today, we operate from our warehouse location next to the Keller Williams building in Maple Grove with plenty of parking. Our designers include Angie Zeger and Maria Donato, who have worked here for years.
We read your card message before designing your arrangement. Sending flowers for a pet who passed? We adjust the design. Writing an apology? We make sure the flowers match the moment. For funeral work, we take the person's life and incorporate it into the bouquet. Bring us their fishing gear, knitting needles, or pickleball paddle. We'll create an arrangement that honors their actual life.
Victor passed away in February 2014 at age 51. Anna stayed to keep the business running. The shop continues with Victor's approach: read the card, understand the moment, make it personal.
